Oats

Modified: 2009/03/09 17:24 by admin - Categorized as: special allergens
Currently, many research studies show that consuming oat may be safe for people diagnosed with Celiac Disease and/or who have a food sensitivity to gluten. However, there are a number of studies that have also shown adverse reactions. In addition, there has been a concern that many widely available oat products are cross-contaminated with gluten from gluten-containing grains processed in the same manufacturing establishments. We have provided a gluten-free source of Oat in our food substitute list for those people whose health care provider has determined that oat is acceptable but who have issued instructions for a guaranteed gluten-free Oat to be used. Please consult your doctor or dietitian for guidance as to what foods to avoid or include in your diet.
