Walnut Basil Pesto

3 1/2 cups   fresh basil leaves, packed lightly, 5 ounces
1 cup   parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cups   walnut half
4   garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp   kosher salt, optional
1/2 cup   olive oil
  • Place basil, cheese, walnuts, garlic and salt in a food processor and pulse until fine.
  • With motor running, slowly add olive oil until desired consistency is reached.
  • This recipe makes 2 cups.
  • If you are using walnut pieces, start with 1 cup
