Iron is used by the body to create hemoglobin (part of the red blood cells) which carry oxygen from your lungs to your cells.
Foods rich in iron include:
- meat, especially red meat like beef
- leafy green vegetables (broccoli, kale)
- salmon, tuna
- eggs
- beans
- whole and enriched grains, like wheat or oats
- potato skins
- dried fruits (apricots, raisins)
